Arjen Uijterlinde began his career at the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1986. Following his assignments in UN, Poland, and Brazil on economic, cultural and political themes, Uijterlinde served in various policy and managerial functions at the Netherlands Ministry of Culture, Education, and Science and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water in late 90’s and early 2000’s. Before starting his current post in Istanbul in 2021, Uijterlinde served as Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Consul General to Rio de Janeiro, and Ambassador for International Cultural Cooperation. Uijterlinde is specialized in multilateral, European and Eastern European affairs.
Arjen Uijterlinde holds a master’s degree in Eastern Studies and Slavonic Languages from University of Amsterdam.”
