Azize Ökten

Azize Ökten graduated from Süleyman Demirel University, Department of Finance, Department of Bachelor's and Master's Degree. She completed her education at the same university in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, Department of Urban, Environmental and Local Government Policies within the scope of YÖK 100/2000 Urban Transformation Studies PhD Program and conducted her PhD thesis titled "The Impact of UNESCO World Heritage Committee Fund Management on Transformation in Historic City Centers: Examples from the World and Turkey" with the support of UNESCO National Commission for Turkey. Ökten has presented papers at numerous academic conferences and seminars on sustainable urbanization, protection of historical and cultural heritage, urbanization policies, cultural diplomacy, international funds and budgets, local governments, governance and the impact of migration on the city, as well as chapters and articles in English and Turkish in national and international books and journals. In addition to his academic activities, he has worked as an intern and volunteer in various civil society, international aid and cultural organizations and think tanks. Ökten is currently a PhD Scholar at the UNESCO National Commission for Turkey.
