Carmine Pacente
Dr., Head of the Department for EU Programs and Funds and LEAR, Metropolitan City of Milan
Carmine Pacente was born in 1978, in the National Park of Cilento, Vallo di Diano e Alburni (SA). He graduated from Bocconi University with a business degree and got a master in “Public Management” from SDA Bocconi. After his thesis at the Italian Embassy in Berlin, he collaborated with ISPI Milan (Institute for International Political Studies).
He is specialized in the planning and coordination of EU funds.
He was responsible for the Europe Service of the Province of Milan. In 2014, appointed by the State’s Undersecretary, he collaborated with the Italian Health Ministry on the “National strategy for internal areas, drawing from European structural and investment funds 2014-2020”.
He currently is Head of the Department for EU Programs and Funds and LEAR (Legal Entity Appointed Representative) of the Metropolitan City of Milan.
He is the author of 4 publications with the publishing house Egea/Bocconi.
At the European elections of May 26th 2019, he got 10,001 preferential votes, half of which in Milan.
The 24th of June 2019, he was nominated President of the European Department of ANCI (National Association of Italian Municipalities) Lombardy. The 12th of October 2019, he was re-confirmed for the 2019-2024 mandate.
Since 2020, he is Alternate of the European Committee of the Region in Brussels and, in particular, of the “Commission for Territorial Cohesion Policy and EU Budget”.
He was elected in the Municipal Council of Milan in 2016 and 2021, and he is President of the EU Funds and PNRR Council Commission.
