She is a successful strategic business consultant working internationally for more than 30 years advising governments, multinational companies and international organisations on diverse sectors. She has been advising and still advises companies, sectoral associations, governments and also works for international organizations such as EU, UNDP, UN in government affairs advisory field on regulatory reform, good governance, strategic management, quality management, strategic participatory governance, ethics, competitiveness, industrial policy, competition policy, corporate governance, regulatory reform, participatory governance, local governance, process management, cross-sectoral operations management, change management, impact assessment, international public finance, sectoral analysis, sustainability, climate change financing, innovation, SMEs, and FDI issues among others. She holds a PhD in industrial economics / industrial organization and a MA degree on political science, and currently and Prof. Dr. in EU Studies and Economic Governance. She is also a Jean Monnet Professor specialized on the economics and politics of EU affairs on interdisciplinary basis. She gives invited lectures and conferences in leading European universities such as Science Po, Maastricht University, Amsterdam University, Aachen University among others, and, in the US, at Washington University.
Prof. LaGro is holder of several international awards for her work, and is the author of more than 187 publications. She frequently writes invited columns for leading newspapers at home and abroad. She is invited frequently to attend international business conferences as a keynote speaker in Turkey and abroad and has several media appearances nationally and internationally. She also prepared and presented a live TV programme on EU affairs at Bloomberg TV in 2010-2011.
