Hilmar Tevrüz von Lojewski
Alderman & Head of Urban Development, Building, Housing and Transport Department, German Association of Cities
Hilmar Tevrüz von Lojewski has been an alderman for urban development, construction, housing and transport for the Association of Cities of North Rhine-Westphalia and the German Association of Cities since 2012. He studied spatial planning and urban and regional planning at the Technical University of Dortmund and METU Ankara until 1988 and graduated as an engineer in urban planning. Hilmar passed the higher technical public service examens in Frankfurt/Main 1991, worked as a freelance planner in Dortmund and as a planning consultant for German Technical Cooperation in Kathmandu, Nepal until 1994. Until 2000 he had joined the city of Dresden as a department head in the urban planning office. In the Berlin Ministry for Urban Development, he was responsible for the departments Urban Planning and Projects, Public Investment Controlling and the Supreme Building Control Authority of the federal capital. From 2007 to 2010 he worked as a program director for the German Development Cooperation in the Program for Sustainable Urban Development in Syria.
