Nuh Zafer Cantürk
Prof., Rector, Kocaeli University
He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Sivas. After graduating from the Thomasville High School in the USA, he received his medical education at Cumhuriyet University. After briefly working at Kayseri SSK hospital, he completed his General Surgery specialization training, and worked as a specialist at Cumhuriyet University. In 1995, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor at Kocaeli University Faculty of Medicine. From 1996 to 1997, he worked at the Strang Cancer Prevention Center and Momarial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He became an associate professor in 1999, and a professor in 2005. He served as a faculty member, board member, and a member of the Faculty of Medicine in the Kocaeli University Senate. He serves as the professor's representative in the university administrative committee. He did his minor in Surgical Oncology in 2013. He currently works in the Breast-Endocrine Surgery Group at Kocaeli University Faculty of Medicine Department of General Surgery. He received his Master's degree in Health Institutions Management at Arel University in 2014. Dr. Cantürk is a co-founder of the Kocaeli Society of Research & Treatment of Breast Diseases, and previously served as the deputy general secretary of the Turkish Federation of Breast Diseases Societies. He is among the founding members and serves in the academic councils of Senaturk and MAYMET organizations. He is the vice president of SENATURK, president of SAKID (Innovation for Quality in Health Association), and president of the Society of Breast Surgeons for the 2021-2024 term.
