Şafak Özsoy
Founder, TULIP Sustainability Centre
Şafak Özsoy is a distinguished sustainability professional with over 37 years of experience. She founded the TULIP Sustainability Centre in 2002, which provides consultancy services on environmental and energy management, climate change, sustainability and emergency management.
Özsoy has held numerous leadership positions, including academic researcher at the Transport and Road Resarch Laboratory in the UK in 1992, quality and environment manager at Italmementi Group, quality manager for the Marmaray Tube Project and environmental manager at Akenerji. She has been a lecturer on sustainable development at Ozyegin University between 2019 and 2020. She was also the UNDRR Turkey Representative in 2021 and 2022.
She is currently the Chair of Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Middle East and Pakistan of ESRAG.
An accomplished writer and advocate for women's empowerment, Özsoy has served as President of the Soroptimist Club of Istanbul, Chairwoman of the Women's Environment Committee of ERMCO, and holds a degree in Geological Engineering from Istanbul Technical University and a certificate from Harvard's Sustainability Program.
Özsoy is also a founding member of the Association for the Support of Women Candidates (KA_DER) in 1997.
Özsoy's commitment to environmental issues is demonstrated by her roles in major climate conferences and sustainability training programmes. Her remarkable career has left a legacy of sustainability and empowerment.
